Feels like the real gap isn't just reaction time, it's that a machine doesn't need to 'read' the scramble the way humans do. A human solver is doing pattern recognition + memory recall + finger execution all under time pressure, while a machine just calculates the optimal move sequence instantly. Kind of like comparing a chess engine to a grandmaster - the engine 'wins' on raw speed, but the human skill involved is a completely different (and honestly more impressive) achievement.
