Advantage of DIY kit?

Why would someone get a DIY kit instead of a normal assembled cube? Is it cheaper? Or better in some way?

you control stickers, lubrication, tensions and have more customization options incase you wanted to do something else to your cube in which event you'd need to take it apart

I don't lube my cubes right away so I can break them in, but my main reason is stickering.

I would be happy if they sold black DIY hualongs and stuff, I hate cleaning all the factory lube.

It lets you set it up the way you want right from the get go, unlike a pre-assembled puzzle where you would have to disassemble and reassemble it. It also is rather fun assembling your own puzzle, that may just be the part of me that likes doing models speaking though.

For me, it just makes it feel more like "my cube". Sure it's easier to get it set up right away and stickered with "my shades", but I don't mind taking cubes apart, so the main reason is to have it be more "mine".
