Hello, I'm Aashrit from India. Chennai to be accurate. First of all, i know its quite a late introduction considering the fact that ive been cubing for 4 months now. Frankly i'm not into writing and stuff.. however i got inspired by my friend and fellow cube Kunaal Parekh( kunparekh18 on the forum).
i started cubing at 11PM on a friday night after i found a rubiks cube in my drawer :P I learnt the dan brown(pogobaat)'s beginners tutorial and learnt it within 2 hours.
i did my first timed solve which was a 3 mins and 22 second something solve. Soon my friend mukunth parthasarathy, got my into this speedcubing group in my country. I took a lot of help and learnt f2l in december 2012. I then bought a Shengshou 2X2 and a 3X3 from this indian store, shop.scmu.in. by mid-january i was averaging 50 seconds and decided to learn 4 look last layer and mastered it within february. I also bought a 4X4 and a 5X5( both SS from the same store). However it took me 20 days for it to arrive which was 5 days before my first comp, Pragyan open 2013 at tiruchirapalli, India. (i forgot to mention that i had a rubiks 4X4 before which i got in the starting of january)
pragyan was quite a delightful comp for me. The comp was held in my dad's previous college which gave me an extra touch of sentiment :P I got an average of 45 seconds and a best time of 30 seconds (3X3) and in the 2X2 event i got a 15 second average. I also got two sub 3:30 solves when i was averaging 4 mins on the 4X4 and i got an 8 min solve on the 5X5 when i was averaging 13 mins :P Then soon i ordered a zhanchi, a megaminx and a pyraminx. Also i became sub 30 in late march. hen i went for my second comp.. CMI Fiesta 2013 which i will be bloging down as it is from my diary ( yes i actually keep a diary). Thanks everybody and please give me ur opinions

Yeah there's a great cubing club here we hold meets frequently... some 10-15 turn up. Chennai is like the hub of cubers in India. In the competition we had on Friday some 110-odd turned up.

We're more based on facebook though, unlike for example the Melbourne club which I think is more based here.
