Gang,

Back when I was in high school in 81/82, I had a solution down pat and could solve the cube in about 20 seconds, often less. However, life has moved on and I've now forgotten it and no amount of searching online has led to the particular solution that I had. If anyone could help me find it, I'd would be forever in your debt!!

The one I used was a top-middle-bottom solution. The top two layers were pretty much a given, but the bottom layer was where you had to memorize the patterns. In this case, you would put one of the four bottom corners in it's place and then use one pattern for exchanging two corners. Once in all four corners were in place, you would use another pattern to rotate them appropriately so the right color was down. Then there was another pattern to exchange edge pieces and a final one to rotate edge pieces to get the right color down.

I know that I'm not providing alot of good info, but if anyone could point me in the right directions, it would be GREATLY apprecited!!! I can be reached directly at [email protected]

Edit: On second thought, it's probably Denny's solution; see below. I think I misread it.

Sounds like an intuitive F2L with some basic permutation algs thrown in. But I dn't know how fast you could go using this type of system- I've been using an intuitive F2L for my solves for a while now and still I have to use some F2L algs to speed up. I have never seen anyone do a top-middle-down solution. Usually its the other way around...

Yeah! I think the Denny solution is the one I'm looking for. If it's not, it's awfully darn close. I can't remember exactly as it's been 25 years, ya know? As for speed, I could often do it under 20 seconds, consistantly under 30 using this method, but then again, I did it so many times I didn't have to think about it and the cube was so loose, I actually had the cube fall apart once when I tried to short cut a move and rotate the front counter clockwise after having rotated the right side back to front

Thanks for all the help!!
