If you can do commutators on a 4x4 or 5x5, you can do them on the 7x7. The fact that you ask this indicates that you do not understand commutators. There are already several threads about commutators on this forum. Please learn to use the search function.

You don't "get" commutators from anywhere. The fact that they're commutators means that the majority of cubers figure them out on their own, or at least understand enough about them to do so.

Most likely, the people who use commutators came up with them on the spot, rather than learning a ton of cases.
