Like this:
9 stickers of each colour, best size is ES 5x5x5 stckers.
Cut the stickers in quarters.
Place the stickers on a blank 3x3x3, four on each face/piece.
Place the stickers near the edges of the piece, that way the smaller 5x stickers will leave some gaps makeing it look like each piece is a 2x2x2. The whole cube will look like a 6x6x6.
I don't know if I make one myself, I recently restored all my cubes so I don't want to ruin the stickers on those, maybe I use a crappy cube for it...
