I recently got a 4x4 cube after finishing my 3x3 sub 30 seconds and have been looking for a written method online for the 4x4. I haven't been able to find a WRITTEN one they are all videos :S. Does anyone know of any good written ones? Thanks in advace

sorry, i possibly should have specified WHAT i took from each site. I found dan's "final two dedge" algorithms extremely helpful, but I honestly went with a "intuitive 1-dedge-at-a-time"/"sometimes try and create 2 pairs at a time" method of dedge forming via the bigcubes site :) I found danH's site helpful in visualizing forming the centers and as another reference to dedge building (as I stated above, primarily the last 2 dedges). Then for the final step I took most of my notes again from bigcubes and some googling here and there to find other info which helped explain parity better since, IMO, bigcubes could do a better job of it. I just didnt "get it" the way they explained it and while reading what's there makes perfect sense to me NOW, I had a hard time getting my head around it the way they explain it honestly.

Thanks for all the links! I can now do the cube with a mixture of their algorythms + my own method, what I do is once I have all the edges complete (as well as the centers) I treat the cube as a 3x3 and do my 3x3 method. Once I've gotten to the final part of completing I use some edge flipper + edge swapper algorythm... best time so far is 5:54... haha I only just got everything down pat. I thought that once I get under 3- 4 mins or that I am completely comfortable with doing it, no hesitations etc, I would get a 5x5! I always thought 4x4's would be WAY too hard, but they're not! They just take longer and maybe abit more thought. Thanks for your support.
