But there is a way to fix it can you take apart the cube and show all the center stalks

Yeah I remember I had the same problem with my 4x4. I never ended up fixing it and just totally scammed @Eli Apperson out of a 4x4. I'm 99% sure something inside of it is broken and not fixable.
