3x3x3 Stage 6 Algorithm?

I use the algorithm shown in the Rubik's How to Solve guide:

Ri F Ri B B R Fi Ri B B R R Ui

I dislike it because I only use it once or twice a solve, and it's hard to memorize. Is there a shorter one that I can use to get to the final stage? I'm getting a speed cube soon, and I want to be able to solve it right then and there without any help. :) If you can help, that would be awesome and would probably take my solve down by a few seconds.

That is the A-perm, the one you are using right now is quite widely popularized as the best 'A-permutation'. So no, in my opinion that is the best one. Also, i really wouldnt recommend using the 'official' rubik's guide, use the internet and this site, their are many resources on the wiki page. check it out.

That is literally the shortest algorithm for what it accomplishes. It's called an A9 commutator, and it's the most efficient way to move only those three pieces around while keeping them oriented.

If it's not necessary to keep the corners oriented, you could try R U' L' U R' U' L U. It does the same thing, expect it disorients the corners.

You can do this very very fast if you do a x' rotation (bring yellow on front).

And do R2 U2 R D R' U2 R D' R

R' is the same as Ri.

It's basically the same alg reversed. Make sure you do the D and D' turns with your ring finger.

You'll memorize it if you do it 5-10 times.

Okay, thanks. :) And no, I don't use all the algorithms in the guide. I use shortcuts and such, but was wondering if there was a possible shorter method. Any recommendations on how to memorize it?

The A-perm that I use is (x) R2' D2 R U R' D2 R U' Lw. I preform the cube rotation while doing R2, so it is actually more like doing R' and Lw' at the same time. I preform the D2s with my left ring finger and middle finder. The first U is done with my right pointer finger, and the second is done with my left pointer finger. This alg is the Inverse alg of yours and at a different angle. This is the best A-perm for me, and I like it. As for remembering it, this algorithm is actually a commutator. To understand what that is, use the link. I find that I remember things better once I understand them.

I'm not sure If you are using the A-perm to preserve your corner orientation, or just to move the corner peice permutation as in the begginers rubiks cube solution. If you don't care about how the corners are turned, then use this 3-cycle corners algorithm. It is also a commutator. R U' L' U R' U' L U'

If you don't understand the Rubikcs cube notation, check this link.

You siad you were getting a speed cube soon, I would recommend the Dayan brand. There two best cubes are the Guhong and the Zanchi. You can get a stickerless one, but be aware that they are not legal in WCA competitions.

I would also agree with qqwref on watching badmephitsto's videos.
