My (only) 3x3 speedcube is now popping, it is too loose now. I can't adjust the screws (25th ani cube). Now, I've been experimenting a bit and found out that it is the core of the cube that makes it loose. I put all cubies of a brand new cube on my loose core and it moves quite well (besides it is also popping). When I put the cubies of my speedcube on a new core it is horrible. New cubies on a good core is not too nice obviously. My guess is that is is 85% core and 15% cubies.
Just my thinkin...

Hey, how did you get youre 25th ani cube to a speedcube? With a good lube and a few hours playing with it, mine is still kinda stiff. The speed is inconsistent and it can't cut corners. Is there anything else you did to make it loose?

Playing for a few hours is simply not enough. You will need months to get the cube loose enough.

I played with it for a while without putting silicone spray in it, I put it in it after only a while. I was kind of lucky with mine, it was a pretty nice one. One out of ten chance it is a good speedcube I thought... Key is to play with it a lot, and maybe to sand down the core a bit, but that is a bit tricky..
