3x3 Magnetize?

Buy a magnetised cube? 🤣

I understand why people had done it 5 or 10 years ago but 2023 its hard to find a decent, non magnetic cube, especially for 3x3
Well i did it because it would give me something to do over the weekend, and also because I have an old cube that’s basically ol’ reliable for me, I’ve had it for years, it’s where I started speed cubing.

Magnets of what size did you order?
I think they were either 4x1 or 5x1 mm. I double stacked them, and they were still waay too weak, so my cube has magnets, but you can’t tell a difference unless you turn the cube slowly. :(

I also superglued the magnets, and superglued the corners together by accident, so even if I wanted to add more magnets, I would only be able to add them on the edge pieces.

These are for 4x4 inners. 4x4 inners actually double the magnets strength due to the mechanism. Normally there are 4 pairs of magnets Acting in each turn, but there are 8 pairs of magnets making an effect in 4x4 inners. Hence, weak magnets are used in 4x4s as it doubles the strength by itself due to its mechanism. 4x1 and 3x1.5 magnets are generally considered as weaker magnets for 4x4 inners (weak even after doubling the strength by the mechanism). To me, 3x2 magnets is the normal strength for 4x4 inners as it doubles up the magnets strength.
4x1.5, 4x2 and 5x1.5 are relatively strong magnets and are used in magnets strength in 3x3s (4x1.5 is on a weaker side while 4x2 and 5x1.5 are as strong). For 3x3, at least start with 4x2 tbh, then stack your 4x1s in edges to adjust the magnets strength.
