3D Skewb & Polymorphinx or Skewb & Skewb Ultimate

I was thinking of buying a Polymorphinx, and when I looked up for vids all I found was people who bought the Polymorphinx with a 3D skweb just to mod it into a Ultimate Skewb and a Skewb...
So my questions are so:
is it really worth it? (BTW i bought a skewb from rubiksfans for 13$ a few days ago, I hope I didnt to a mistake[did I?])
Is polymorphinx not that great of a cube itself?

I've heard that the Polymorphinx and 3D Skewb's novelty wears out rather quickly. I'd go for the Skewb and Ultimate.

I don't think the Polymorphix and 3D Skewb are worth it, personally. They work exactly the same as the Skewb Ultimate and solve the same way too, except for having to figure out where everything goes (the stickering is pretty weird). Unless you really like having every type of puzzle, I'd recommend just getting a Skewb Ultimate.

3D Skewb =/= Polymorphinx =/= Strangely Stickered Skewb Ultimate = Skewb where center orientation matters.

A 3d Skewb is a Skewb with Skewb Ultimate corners, a polymorphinx is a Skewb with Skewb Ultimate centres.

To put it simply, both the Polymorphinx and the 3d skewb are the mutated offspring of the Skewb and Skewb Ultimate.
