My daughter should be taking over Aina Hashimoto's spot as the youngest competitor in the WCA database after the Iowa Open. She's not as fast as Aina, but this is after one day of practice yesterday and a single practice solve today.

And if a moderator wants to change this to embedded, here's the code, but I can't embed Facebook videos directly.

<object width="400" height="300" ><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.facebook.com/v/387210124910" /><embed src="http://www.facebook.com/v/387210124910" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="300"></embed></object>

Lol, this thread is kind of misleading, I thought you were talking about a 3 year old magic (literally). anyway, nice.

The Magic I use is more than 3 years old. I could post a video of that if it makes you happy. :)

lol i saw it and was like 0.0 A TREE YEAR OLD WUT
then i see this...
i was actually hoping to see a three year old solving a mag...
ohwait.

Very nice :) Always cool to see some very young cubers.

Maybe you should teach her the faster method, like Aina used. It's a bit trickier, I suppose, but fewer steps will make it harder to mess up and easier to learn (and faster!). You may not want your daughter to break the record for slowest magic solver (currently a 13.00 single), even if she is the youngest competitor.

Well, I'm hoping with this method she'll be able to get her time down a bit (this is one day of practice) Hopefully when she learns to do the correct flips she won't have so many delays.

I wouldn't worry too much about her being the slowest Magic solver. She's been really jealous of her sister for being able to compete.

Hopefully my 6-year-old will have the cube down by then. We're working on the last few steps.

Congrats on Hannah's debut to the competition! She is so cute. Maybe Hannah and Aina should square off. :) I bet Hannah will get faster pretty quickly. Aina got excited to see another young Magic solver and started to play with her Magic right away. Interestingly, she was trying to simulate Hannah's method.

P.S. Thanks for your email, Bryan. ;)
