Is there any dramatic difference between the two? I bought a spool of 25 lb test monofilament from my local hardware store and it works great. It's the same exact thickness ass theline that comes the the original magic. i just tie a knot at the end of the string and cut off the excess. The only problem is sometimes the knots get stuck on the other strings, but that doesn't happen if you position the knots correctly. and It's a lot cheaper.
Oh BTW I figured out a way to find the correct length for the magic strings.

-Place one end at corner x of the magic and place the other end at corner y.
It should be give or take 9 inches.
