Hello guys, I just wanted to know if a 2x2x2 Ao5 of 12.09 is good or not. How can I get faster? I use CFOP.

cfop is a 2x2 method?

Learning Ortega will help you a lot. There are three (correct me if I'm wrong) main things you can practise in 2x2: using inspection, reducing recognition time and TPS. At your stage, you should be trying to plan a face during inspection, but it's more important to focus on the other two imo, until you learn CLL or are getting fast with Ortega. Practise your algs and try to find the fastest ones you can (use as many websites as you need to find the best algs for you), and doing timed solves should force you to practise recognition.

you could use CFOP on a 2x2, yes, just takes longer

With ortega it's quite easy getting much faster than 12s. I never really practice 2x2(I really should learn CLL) and suck at it, but I somewhat quickly learned ortega, practiced a bit and got an official 6.57 average at my first comp.

If you're looking for tips, then you should be doing pyraminx, not 2x2.

But like everyone says, Ortega is extremely helpful and extremely easy to learn. To get better with it, and with any method, really, a faster recognition is key. Obviously a fast recognition isn't going to come to you when you first learn. What's nice is that there are few cases that you actually need to recognize. I've been getting into 2x2 more than usual lately. I learned ortega within half an hour. I've improved it enough that I average ~3.8 seconds globally, as opposed to my previous 6 second global average.
