2x2

i always review a network error...and i noticed that on his ell page for the 3x3, the cube is a 2x2..is something wrong there? thanks anyway...

OK Mr Inusagi, I read some of the guide, which one is your favourite? I tried Ortega method but the algorithm doesn't work or is it?

When I used the algorithm for step 2, the cube just return back to other case.... Is this what supposed to happen?

when I got mine the day I got it I had a 5 second solve you solve it exactly like a 3x3 except without F2L and remember there are no edges all corners.

I need about 1 min to get into it..... however, I practice using 4x4x4 cube. If I need about 1 min in 4x4x4 that become 2x2x2, I hope I can get even faster in the actual 2x2x2.

Yeah, practicing on the 4x4 is a lot slower than doing it on a 2x2. I can solve the 2x2 like more than two times faster if I solve it like a 2x2 on the 4x4, even if they are the same scramble. You can actually solve the 2x2 on a 3x3, just imagine it's corners only. Just for fun - I wouldn't recommend it.

erm, guys, I tried to do it on the actual 2x2x2 but my average is still sub-40. I heard some people can solve it under 20 secs....

What happen to me?????????

i'm trying to teach my younger brother(12) how to solve a 2x2 (just got my first one today)... i can solve the top layer using the guide that comes with the ES... but i'm stuck after that.. i don't know what FR'F'D'F'DR and RFRF'D'F'D algorithms do (step 4)... i am also new at cubing (just over a month) but i use the "cross OLL" and the J and Y perms to solve the last layer... but i want to teach him the method on the guide because it uses fewer algorithms to memorize (and easier maybe?)...

PS he can always solve the top layer...

Walah!!!!!! How come they be so fast? It will take me forever. At least, I will not be on the last place.... Maybe about 773:D....

Ouw, Mr Masterofthebass, whddya mean by correct method? IS there any method that can give me at least sub-20?

I use the layer by layer method, and I get a 16 second average using a 2x2.

And... you can't expect everything to be good for you. The layer by layer method for the 2x2 is almost the same for the 3x3, and if you don't solve the 3x3 fast, your 2x2 times are most likely not going to be fast either....

LBL is for fridrich right? hah....... my time is not yet sub-1 min 20 secs eh......

There are fast methods like OFOTA, EG, SS, etc. But LBL with a 2-look last layer can give you a sub-20 average easily. If you're looking for something slightly more advanced, check out Ortega and Guimond.

I currently use SS, but it hasn't been made public yet... I don't think.

Harry, just learning a method, no matter how advanced it is, won't make you sub-20. You have to practice. The beginner method you use for 3x3 is capable of sub-40 and maybe even sub-30 average. Why aren't you sub-30? Because you need more practice. What makes you think the 2x2 is any different?

:eek::eek::eek:

Really???? Well, I should get going then.....

Btw, which beginner method you meant? The booklet or the pjk's method?

However, maybe that is including the fingertricks and looking ahead?

and if you don't solve the 3x3 fast, your 2x2 times are most likely not going to be fast either....

Explain me. I can barely break 30 average on 3x3, yet I'm sub-7 on 2x2

But sub-30 is good eh.........
