I am organizing an 2x2 online competition.

The competition is 3 rounds, and the competitor limit is 8.

In each of the rounds, I will pair everybody up into a 1v1 average of 5 match with another competitor. If your average is better than the competitor you were matched against, you advance to the next round. If not, you don't advance. If anybody has ever watched a tennis grand slam, this basically works like that.

The method I will be using to decide who you get paired up with in your 1v1 is known as the swiss system method.

In order to register, you must say "I registered" and you must also say your personal best average of 5 for 2x2.

Registrations open now, and close on Sunday, July 16th at 11:59 PM EST

Submit your times in this thread once the competition starts.

I registered

PB AO5:
At Home: 2.30
At Forum Comps: 2:56

Here are the pairings:

Group 1: Skewbisthebestevent vs Vincent
Group 2: SpiFunTastic vs Davain
Group 3: JDAW6 vs fes_77
Group 4: Qzinator vs An animated cuber

These pairings were made by using the swiss system method, used in chess tournaments.
Qzinator and Vincent have the same PB, but since Qzinator has a better comp average, I am doing the pairings such that Qzinator has a better PB than Vincent.

anyway, here are the rules:

Rule 1: All WCA regulations apply.

Rule 2: If the cube is very close to being a +2 or not and you aren't recording, take a picture of the cube and post it on this thread. Make sure to take the picture from far away so you don't touch the cube. If you do, the solve is a +2.

Rule 3: You don't have to record, but if you are unsure of a penalty and you aren't recording, the solve is given the penalty. Thus, recordings is recommended. Exception: Rule 2

Rule 4: Don't comment about other people's times in a negative way.

Rule 5: Don't cheat

I will post the scrambles on July 17th at 12:00 PM EST, give or take a few hours. The scrambles are different depending on which group you are in. You will have until July 20th at 11:59 PM to submit your times.
