25th Aniversery Cubes

I know this could be a dumb question but... are 25th aniversery cubes different than normal storebought cubes?

I got one for a gift sometime and I think I eventually changed it into a stupid ruben king cube.

You can buy 25th anniversary in stores, so it is technically a storebought cube.

But 25th anniversary's are considered the best Rubiks ever sold for the massmarket (in stores)

Of the 2 or 3 "25th Anniversary" cubes I have encountered, they were all good. Just work them a bit, clean them, lube them and they are all set. You can't say that about most other store cubes. I think I notice springs in the 25th Anniversary Cube, but I think it uses rivets (not screws). It is real difficult to pop. My old one has lost all its spring tension -- maybe they did not bother with washers and stuff wore down just a bit.

I have one and it's unpopable.. really.. no one can pop the cubies out of my 25th anny cube.. it's VERY smooth but it can't cut corners.. thats the only bad thing about it.. otherwise it would be my main cube

i totally agree with everyone above.
my 25th anniversary cube is the best cube ever.

strangely though it started popping during scrambling lately, but still very seldom.
while solving I only ever had 2 pops in over 1.5 years.
oh, and i can cut corners easily on mine aswell.

if you can get your hands on one, buy it.
