I've memorized all the cases and algs for 2 look and now I'm just wondering when is a good time to move on to memorizing the PLL's?

I've got a 1min 15sec average. Should I keep practicing 2 look and F2L before trying to memorize the PLL's or just go for it?

thanks,

Try to get better at knowing what OLL/PLL algorithms to use and executing then faster, and get your average down to a little under a minute. Then maybe start learning full PLL if you really want to.

If if anyone recommends that you not learn them, don't listen to them. It is best to learn them while you still feel like learning algorithms and new things, rather than wait until you don't feel like learning them.

Agreed, do them now if you are ready. Learning the remaining PLLs is nothing compared to learning all the OLLs. I learned the PLLs when I was at about 60 or 70 seconds. As you learn them, your times might suffer, but ultimately it will help a bit. It is probably something you ultimately want to accomplish anyway.

I learned all of the PLLs when I was around 60-70 seconds too. Your times will suffer from poor execution, but the longer you know the algorithms, the more familiar you become with them. You might take more than 10 seconds to do a permutation at first, but over time you'll get that down to under 4. It's always good to learn early; I don't get why people say "Get your times down to x before you learn y".

As long as you know how to solve F2L without algorithms, you're always practicing it, there's really no reason why you can't practice F2L and LL at the same time. It's called "solving the whole cube". :)

Before I learned all PLL, with what you know now I maxed out at high 20's low 30's, also when you are solving the cross in the LL you may also want to consider learning the OLL cases when there's only one dot in the middle, after I knew the "dot" cases and all PLL after practice I was mid 20's, you can gte lower then that though. So for you I would try to get solid averages under 50 seconds before you went on to learning all PLL, then dots.

I am still incomplete with my OLLs but did the same thing. I learned how to orient edges (2 at a time), before orienting corners. The cases where all 4 edges needed flipping involved too many steps, so I learned those OLLs.
