Omg I want to clear things up. Can you make a "slow" run through of solving the edges? It's not exactly like tutorial like Erik's, just kind of like what Jonathan did.

Ok, yeah, like Jon said, I use a completely freestyle method. I have a "walkthrough" on my youtube profile also. Really, I find pieces and pair them up while remembering what I've previously done to maximize efficiency

It's what you often do between F2L/OLL, between OLL/PLL and/or after PLL because you cannot perform the alg from all 4 angles

I don't understand what it has to do with reduction though

If you look at nakaji's solves, he just looks fast and not stopping because he turns the U layer like crazy. He sometimes does that for 3 seconds without doing anything.
