Very cool stuff, Silky! 😄

Interesting! Wow!
I will try to make a solution following that method using this scramble:
y’ F2 U’ L’ U’ R // Pseudo Pairs (5)
y U’ L’ U’ L F U R U’ R’ F’ // SLS (10/15)
R U’ R F2 R’ U R’ // CPBL (7/22)
B2 S’ U’ S D R2 // EO (6/28)
R2 U R E2 R2 E2 R U’ R2 u // LRP (10/38)
U2 M U2 M // L4E...
I have never seen a solution like that before! I can't actually see what first 6 moves do, but then it all comes together.
Looks like a new novelty method, very cool.
Here on my scramble I tried something kind of similar. Obviously this solution isn't for speedsolving. Just fun. :)
y' F R' F'...
My method for 3x3 FMC is two-step:
1) Solve any 2x2 block (including over the line, like ACDF or BCHI)
2) Finish 2-gen (just focus on solving the easiest layer, and then the last 3 pieces fix themselves)
Generally it’s 3-4 moves for each step, and I average about 7.2 moves (linear).
Edit- My...
I just did more than 100 solves on 4x4 Loopover.
This is my new PB Single: 6.28. (19 moves!)
I usually get ~11-12 seconds on 4x4 now, half as much as regular 5x5 Loopover.
Edit: My PB’s! I did some 3x3 too!

I tried 2x2 FMC loopover just for the lolz.
I did 50 solves, 2.40 Mo50 (2.41 Ao50).
I got a 1.0 Mo3, 1.33 Ao5, and 1.90 Ao12.
Try to beat my PB Ao12 of 1.9 lmao.
I’m assuming optimal average must be 2.4.
4! = 24 states. Wild guess at the distribution:
(0 depth has 1 state but will never show up)...
Oh my gosh I didn't expect to be so correct! So god's number is actually 8, fantastic!
As for average optimal length, it must be 6.1 moves.
I used the data from that table and did this: ((0*1)+(1*12)+(2*96)+(3*736)+(4*5208)+(5*28674)+(6*89497)+(7*54741)+(8*2475))/181440
So, this means my 6.9 PB...
I just beat this with a much more consistent session:
6, 7, 7, 6, 8, 6, 8, 6, 8, 7, 7, 7 = 6.90 Ao12 3x3 FMC Loopover.
I have some feeling God's Number is 8 moves, and I'd guess the average optimal length is probably 6.8 or so. I didn't have any lucky (5 moves or less) solves, so to beat my PB...
Loopover is super interesting!
I tried the 3x3 FMC. (Linear solutions/no undo)
9, 7, 11, 6, 7, 8, 7, 7, 9, 6, 7, 6 = 7.30 Ao12.
I also have a 5.33 mo3 (4, 5, 7) and 6.33 ao5 (9, 4, 5, 7, 7).
I want someone to beat my PB ao12!

I posted this 3 years ago. These algorithms are not very good, they didn’t even come from a cube solving program. I would encourage people to generate 21 better algorithms for FP. Also keep in mind that FP is largely novelty and L4E is likely much faster for speedsolving.
