How fast are the over 40's in competitions?

I'm 60, so maybe I'm the oldest. I've been cubing for almost 2 years. My ao5 is somewhere in the high 40s range. Also, I've never competed in a comp, but would love to.

Community Feedback: how can the site improve?

Not to be boring, but I like the community/forum just like it is. And as far as keeping beginner discussions separate, I would vote NO. I think newbies should be able to "mingle" with all other cubers. Just my two cents.

    [Review] Valk 3

For what it's worth, do you not like the GTS because it's fast? If so, you probably wouldn't like the Valk. It's very fast. Of course, you could put some weight 5 on the core and possibly some weight 1 on the pieces. I did that to mine and it's just about perfect now.

    [Review] Valk 3

My review of The Valk 3: I just got my Valk 3 in the mail today and, out of the box, it's very fast - too fast. So I put some weight 1 lube between the pieces and it definitely slowed it down - and gave it a "gummy" feel. So, I removed the weight 1, most of it anyway, and now it's just right. It...

    I'm all excited. I'm finally a consistent sub-1 minute 3x3 solver. My PB single is 33.51, ao5 is 49.12, ao12 is 52.32. Yay!

    [Review] GAN 356 Air

Good review. Thanks. I have a love/hate relationship with my GAN Air. I spent at least 2 days trying different springs and tensions, and finally I'm pretty happy with it. I settled on the yellow springs/nuts. It does have a problem with lockups, though.

Thanks for the video. That was good. One more question: When there's multi-BLD, are they all scrambled the same? Sounds like this guy might be the Feliks Zemdegs of blind solving.

Hey, thanks. I literally don't know how anyone can memorize the entire cube to do a BLD. Pretty amazing.

Could you post your YouTube channel URL? I'd like to watch that review. I got my Air 3 days ago and I'm still trying to find the best spring/tension for it. And yes, it locks up on me as well. But I'm going to try unscrewing the corners and we'll see. Thanks for this review!

Well, I know this won't compare to most posts in this forum, but my goal used to be sub-1minute. I've now reached that goal (~58 seconds). Just thought I'd share.

[Member Intro] Hello! (and my first 100 times)

Hey there. I'm an old timer (60) and I remember saying that my goal was to achieve an average of sub-1min. I now have accomplished that goal. Keep it up. You'll get faster. Just enjoy it. Watch videos. Memorize algs - that's important for getting faster, because I currently use 4LLL (2-look OLL...
