I have an ID MatsBergsten on chess.com so start a game whenever you want. And three days per move seems ok for me, that's the traditional correspondence chess time (in average).

Do you know that I once (twenty years ago or so) knew almost 10000 decimals of pi? (Then I started with cubing which is more fun than reciting decimals)

    Older cubers discussions

Perhaps sort of stupid of me to "like" Dans post when I perhaps is the most ardent follower of Shens weekly reports. I really like them. On the other hand I understand the need for simple algorithms and other things like that. I have much harder to learn new things nowadays (like doing bld both...

Yes, 35 secs is good if you are 70+ age. The basics of bld is not to use CFOP or something like that. If you use bld-algs (from a few to 7-800, choose :)) you "only" have to memorize the cube once (like 12 edges + 8 corners including orientation). And it's travel to solved which is 8-15...

You solve a 3x3 in 12 seconds??? Wow. (I avg round 35). As for bld the whole point is doing two pieces at a time (or "one"). Doing CFOP or other method blind the mind cannot get, at least not my (and most other peoples) mind.

Do you know what a mat is? I realize it's probably rather common to call Matthew or Matteo for Mat. So ok. Still nice to solve the cube partly with eyes closed. Is it part of an effort to learn blind or to solve the cube faster? I don't think there are many persons that can solve the cube...

Around 1980 I bought a cube as a christmas present to my wife. We both enjoyed it very much. Speedcubing (as you can see from 2008berg04) 2008. And you?

you mean like February or February 1950? It's also the 50:th day of the year for me. (How old are you?) I liked the snow when I was young but nowadays I like the summers more (not so cold all the time). Growing vegetables and berries.

No, not any longer, it was twenty years ago. But perhaps almost a hundred. And some special places like where it's 999999 (among the first thousand decimals).

Hi Arvid! Yes, fairly common when I was young and nowadays among young people too. About 25000 people in Sweden now with about half of them as first name (= what they are called). Arvid is also an old Nordic name (more than 1000 years old I guess). It means something like "eagle" and "wood". :)
