    LaTeX help?

I'm writing some solutions in LaTeX for Mathcamp (hopefully I can go!), but there's a small part where I write: $\dfrac{\frac{x}{y}}{\frac{z}{w}}$ Although it's functional within the pdf, it's not very pretty; all the lines are of the same length, which makes it difficult to discern which...

    Fast Square-1 opposite parity?

Currently I use the opposite parity on Lars' site (www.cubezone.be), but I just can't get it fast. My adjacent takes nearly half the time (~5s vs ~8s for opposite), even though it has more moves. I have the suspicion that there is a thread on this somewhere in this forum, but I can't find it...

    WTB/T: Black Megaminx

I'd like a good-quality black Megaminx. I'm willing to either trade for it or buy it. c4y was out of black minxes when I placed a large order, and I don't really have the money to buy another large order (and I'm not paying liek $40 for a single product if I can help it). I have lots of 4x4x4...

I failed in Cubemania - how to fix?

I was practicing for 2x2x2, but forgot to change the event, so now I have an amazing 3x3x3 record average (5.93). Not only will I be hard-pressed to beat it, but it also makes me seem arrogant and a cheater (my message was "crap", because it was a bad average for 2x2x2). How do I delete this?

    WTB: Square-1 edge cap

PROBLEM SOLVED I was solving my Square-1 (squaring?) in the halls a while ago, and I accidentally dropped it. Due to my idiocy in not gluing the caps on, most of them fell off and scattered. I found most of them, but I couldn't find one edge cap. I'm not too bad of a Squarer (if that's the...

    Which one?

K, so I can go to one tournament this term. I'm trying to decide between CalTech Fall and Berkeley Fall. Which one should I go to?

    Square-1 scrambler for a calculator?

I have no idea how scrambles are even generated for a Square-1; otherwise, I'd just program it myself. Can anyone either give me a link to a TI-83 Square-1 scrambler, tell me how sq-1 scrambles work, or just give me the code to a scrambler? Thanks in advance!

How do you do move analyses?

I'm trying to do a science project comparing the move efficiencies of Petrus and Roux. I know that there are numerous studies on cross move efficiencies; how, exactly were they done? I spent some time thinking about them, but they kinda didn't make sense to me (let's see, brute force? "Case...

    What method do you use?

Out of curiosity, what method do you people use? Advance apology to any of those who use a method I did not put in the poll. If you do parts of different methods, please specify how you do it in a post. I use Orient first 3-cycle. Not particularly good at it.

How do you do U (U' for righties)?

Just out of curiosity. This is not one of those threads about which is better, because that has been discussed in at least 3 threads. I currently use LUB.

How do you do R' (L for righties)?

I realize that there's still an epic discussion of ring or pinky, and FRD or DRB, and I realize that it really is a matter of preference. I'm just curious on the number of people who do each particular style (and for those who just can't do it that way, I included the index option: I sometimes...

    Ring or pinky?

Pardon the n00b question, but what are the advantages and disadvantages to using ring or pinky for R/L turns? Thanks in advance!

    4x4x4 and 5x5x5 times?

I realize that there's probably a thread out there on this exact topic, but I'm too lazy to go find it. :P If I want to average sub-1:30 on 4x4x4, what should a break-down of my solve look like? I'm not sure how best to phrase that; what I mean is, how long should I take to solve centers...

    What method do you use?

I'm aware that somebody somewhere probably already has one, and is much better than this, and I apologize beforehand. I also apologize beforehand for any method that I missed. *edit* Only after posting this did I realize I forgot about beginner styles; very sorry for that slip of memory.
