What’s the FASTEST time you’ve gotten on ANY type of beginners method?

I can routinely solve the 3x3 with LMCF beginner's method (around 20 algs), in 16-17 seconds. That's despite extremely slow TPS of around 3 - 3.5.

Declaration of Unified Profile Picture Movement on the Speedsolving Forum

I agree that it is not a human making this posts, it is ChatGPT. I can prove it as well. In order for ProStar to prove that it is human, it needs to make a statement that attacks minority groups. Any human can easily make such a statement, even as a joke, but ChatGPT is unable to do that. I...

Declaration of Unified Profile Picture Movement on the Speedsolving Forum

As if it wasn't bad enough that free speech no longer exists and people go to jail for throwing basic insults at other people now. To attack free speech & freedom of expression on a cubing forum that has no real effect on the world anyway. The original post is either a HUGE joke, or the dumbest...

[Help Thread] What is the best speedcubing Method?

I have been trying to create better speedsolving methods for most of my life, and the truth that is really hard to swallow is that it is nearly impossible to beat CFOP with multi-slotting & ZBLL. I think other (newer) methods will at best 'tie' CFOP+ZBLL.

How di I patent the cubing methods I made

A greater question is why would you want to patent it. Patents are usually used to protect profits when selling something, so other people cannot also sell your invention. With a speedcubing method, there is nothing to sell, no profit to be had. So there is no profit to protect by a patent.

Female WR 3x3 avg, 5.97 by Qixian Cao - 6 year old Chinese girl in her very first wca comp

Sune ZBLL. That it always learned last, so she must know them all, with ridiculous recognition time. I'm not even sure what to say to that. I guess she must have started learning ZBLL when she was 4.

What new method should i learn?

I think Mehta is the only really original new method, and also has quite a few users.

Pinkie pie is slightly better than EOLR

I would say the movecount of ZBRoux vs. Roux is basically the same except ZBRoux removes the worst part of Roux which is CMLL recognition time. As I mentioned, in ZBRoux you are solving DF/DB & orienting edges, while you are recognizing the corner case, which eliminates the CMLL recognition...

Pinkie pie is slightly better than EOLR

Really the only criticism or drawback of ZBRoux is (1) some ZBLL algorithms are not that nice or ergonomic, (2) very hard to maintain good speed & memory fetch time for such a large algorithm set. On paper ZBRoux certainly beats regular Roux, its incredible feature is the capacity to recognize...

Pinkie pie is slightly better than EOLR

I think the ZBRoux finish is better than Pinkie Pie. It is also the only version of the three variants that can be completed in 2 looks.

    Technique pushed in 1981?

Just to be clear today when people say 'Waterman' they are talking about the method that has 300+ algorithms. Solving one face minus one edge, then the corners, then using keyhole to solve L/R edges, then solving the M-slice; many of us 'invented' that method, that requires only around 20...

    Technique pushed in 1981?

While an extremely simplistic version of Waterman might have existed in 1981, the real method was not published until later in the 1980's and there is no possible way any person in North America could have generally known about Waterman in 1981. Besides, the method that I 'invented' to solve the...

What was cubing like from 1982-2003?

Between 1981 and 1990, very few people could solve the cube in general. Most cubes available were horrible; only the 'original Rubik's cube' had any chance of turning properly. All other clones were a joke (funny that the opposite is true today); by joke I mean 'wonderful puzzler' clone cubes...

    Technique pushed in 1981?

Waterman didn't exist in 1981. In '81, there were only 3 methods in general publications. The first solved the entire top slice, then the bottom corners, then all the edges at random. The next solved all the corners, then the edges. The final method in 'Simple Solution to the Rubik's Cube'...

Should I switch back from ZZ to Roux?

Yeah as OreKehStrah said, without full ZBLL, you don't gain anything from ZZ.

Does An unofficial 2x2 2 mover count?

Luckily if you solve 3x3 corners first, 1-mover corner solutions still count. But you still have to solve the rest of the cube. However the average time to solve the corners on the 3x3 would therefore be slightly less than your 2x2 average, since 0-movers, 1-movers, 2-movers and 3-movers all count.

Accomplish what many have spoken as possible but no one has done, one look Roux FB + all corners in 15 seconds of inspection.

Guys, someone from the cubing community died yesterday....

It's very sad. The hull was made of carbon fiber instead of the usual titanium, and carbon fiber weakens after each dive, more and more. The main engineer made a huge objection in 2018 about the dangers of the carbon fiber hull. He was fired for his objection. The CEO was on the sub when it...

[WR] Yiheng Wang 4.48 WR 3×3 avg

The craziest thing to me is 5.99 is a massive screw up, nobody even cheers. A few years ago almost any cuber would die to have an official 5.99 single.

[WR] Leandro Martín López Megaminx Average - 27.27

Pure sub-30... which insane. Not long ago a single sub-30 single was a huge deal. Now every solve is sub-30.
