Can’t do basic maths can we? 4K is not half of 8562

You shouldn’t be rounding here, and anyway... Rounding to 3 significant figures gets 4100 for Lightake, and 8560 for Prostar. Not half.
Rounding to 2 significant figures gets 4100 for Lightake and 8600 for Prostar. Not half. Rounding to 1 significant figure gets 4000 for Lightake, and 9000 for Prostar. NOT HALF.

And also Prostar has had more reactions since then, meaning with rounding to 4K, you are over 600 reactions off the mark, so you’re not halfway by 300 entire reactions. And even counting his original number, 8562, you’re still off the mark by 562 reactions, another 256 reactions to go.

That isn't what I meant by rounding. I meant that Lightake is closer to half of the reactions of Prostar than one third of the way there.
