Maths at school for me is pretty boring at the moment, we’re doing area and perimeter on squ....Yawn. I prefer studying at home. We’ve done pretty much no advanced algebra or geometry so far, so all of that I cover at home. I might enter the UKMT Maths Challenge this year, and school doesn’t look like it’ll get me a gold in the first round, so...

You’re practically the same age as me, and you get maths problems which take 5 hours... And the time limit suggests you have to hand it in, which implies schoolwork? What?

Its an online math class, that is well know for being really hard. right now im doing geometry. the way the classes work is theres 8ish problem that you just enter in a number as your answer, and a writing problem where you have...

... to prove something and show your work, which is graded by a human based on whether the solution works and how good your writing style is. So it takes much longer because you have write it all down and make sure your solution makes sense. What math are you doing at home? Area an perimeter of squares sounds extremely boring though. XD

Currently, I’m doing past papers like this, and doing some problems in this book.

I hate arithmetic lol, i use a calculator when I can. So i'd probably fail that paper XD. I might try it later though.

Me: Can I use a calculator to work out the average speed of this rocket.
Science teacher: Do you know your arithmetic?
Me: Yes
Science teacher: Always use a calculator then

As opposed to our maths teacher who tells us to show working out, how you got x from y and z, and other obvious stuff.
