"Can you tell me how you first got into cubing? I love backstory!"
Nothing special, my family ended up buying a cube, I was the only one to try and solve it, tried for 2-3 hours, I solved it, and it spirals down from there.
NO prob sis. My brother introduced me to it in 2017, but U got hooked during lockdown(I hope you did well during that time) and drilled hardcore ever since!
HAHA unfortunately not. He averaged 5 minutes on 3x3 and 20 on 5x5. Then he quit. Did you ever try teaching them or what? I think you are cool by the way. Chill vibes
The Tornado series are notorious for breaking...it is just a matter of time. Are you considering buying a new 3x3, and if you are, how much are you willing to spend?
Definitely considering new 3x3s, I'm really interested in the TV5, since I loved (and still love) my TV3, I'm willing to spend ~50 pounds, I might check out the gan 16, but It's pricing is kinda crazy and probably not worth it.
I have had the super rs3 m for a while and still works well to this day(after mofifying it)some good options also are Gan 12 maglev, Gan v100, andthe Weilong V10
The Weilong V10 features an advanced magnetic core as well as adjustable centers (8 Settings) and is for cubers who turn with a bit more force and prefer a cube that feels "substantial"and extremely stable
The Gan 12 is lighter than the Weilong and is well suited for longer practice sessions. It has 30* auto alignment and 252 setting combinations (back then the edges and corners were adjustable too)This cube is for cubers who value speed as well as stability with a light "airy"feel
The Gan V100 is smaller than the Gan 12 and lacks adjustability. The centers are still adjustable (today's standard of magnetic cubes)It is not as stable as the Weilong option, but is well suited for those who want the most up-to-date tech in a relatively basic cube like that.
Lastly I have just the old Super rs3 M. If you chose this one, then be assured it is durable and has room for modifications (I removed maglev and kept springs out also while adding magnets to the corner feet and the edge walls)it works well for it's price, but not as valuable as the other options you have.
