Do you support the addition of 4-pad to the WCA? (POLL)

Asking this cause it seems like there’s a ton of people who disagree with this decision.

I think it's worthwhile for competitions of 2x2, and only 3x3 solves under 10 seconds, ie mainly for semis and finals for those puzzles. It's not worthwhile IMO to replace all current equipment used in comps and used by cubers, although the manufacturers would love that.

It's better to plan ahead for the next system, one that would solve all problems, and one that is more accurate, by measuring only the time really used in solving, and not including the time taken to grab the cube or to throw it out. No more cheating, and no more unlucky mistakes in tossing, or reliance on skills unrelated to actual solving. This means measurements using smartcubes. This will require standardised smartcubes protocols, interfaces, displays, product certification. and whatever else necessary to let manufacturers make cubes and apps compatible and suited for comps. This may take two years or more, but it will provide a proper solution, and also cut the solves times a little bit.

The vast majority of equipment used in comps today is already gen 5 and will not need replacing.
