Easy / Lucky / Hard / Weird scrambles Thread

    3 pairs up front. D B D2 R2 U L2 F2 D2 B2 U' F2 L2 B2 F2 L' U F' D L R F' Unfortunately I did not get PB. Stressed a bit too much. I do Roux BTW - But 2 pairs with white pre-formed should be OK even for CFOP users. Just tried a cross, 6 moves and 2 pairs untouched

How do I describe cubing to a non cuber?

Cubing is all about being fast at recognizing patterns, and execute a sequence of moves depending on the pattern. The move sequence can be intuitive, or algorithms consisting of typically 4-12 moves. People usually compete with themself, trying to improve. You can improve by learning more...

    [Help Thread] Blindsolving

Started with OP corners. Never got further than a few 2x2 BLD solves. Too boring. Now I do sighted intuitive 3-style solves. More fun. Not doing blind yet. Still too many mistakes in execution. No harm in doing sighted solves first to get the basics down. You can learn letters along the way.

Maybe. But not always. Sometimes it is cube rototation. Sometimes setup, sometimes when interchange before insert. Sometimes I forget last interchange I think. Need more focus. Always works when I write it down.

    [Help Thread] Blindsolving

Not sure where I make mistakes. D2 inserts works more often than D/D’. and I think I sometime forgets to restore the interchange move when I do interchange first. But I agree that learning is the fun. Bad execution is the annoying part. Need to start using my smart cube again to see what...

    [Help Thread] Blindsolving

After learning OP corners (nothing for edges) a year ago, and being able to solve the 2x2 - and dropping it due to boring execution, I am restarting my 3BLD journey. I am going for intuitive 3-style. More interesting solve, 1/3rd of the movecount. But I am still failing way too much in execution...

    Blindsolving Failure Thread

I am a BLD n00b. Learned OP corners a year back, too boring and move intensive solves (I use Roux for more interesting 3x3 solves) - and never got to edges. Now I just started learning intuitive 3-style with simple 4 step commutators (8 moves) - and sometimes too long setups. Sometimes I learn...

    Upcoming puzzles

Moyu going to release new cubes soon is most likely a fact. They do not have any modern top performing cubes. I like my WRM Maglev, but the Pioneer series really took over the top spot - at same price levels. And the existings Moyus can't really compete. It is great we see so much...

Things non cubers should stop saying.

I assume your favorite artist is Huey Lewis ? It’s hip to be square

    [Help Thread] Puzzle Recommendations

2x2: the Tengyun is still less noisy than the others. MGC (not elite is considered great). Then there is all the cheap ones. 3x3: Moyu WRM is very good and Tornado V3 Standard is not half bad.

I don’t have any Android devices, but would like to update my iCarry. Any way to do from PC or iPhone ? I have a few desync issues - but not that many.

Its GAN. So all looks and price. Their scrambles are confirmed to not be random state. Use Cubeast with the cube. That website is way better than the GAN software.
