[Help Thread] F2L Discussion and Help

    You can solve this case by separating the pair directly into a 3 move insert: R U2' R' U' R U R' - R U2' R' separate the pieces into a 3 move insert - U' aligns the pieces - R U R' inserts the pair You can solve this pair by hiding the corner to pair the pieces with R' U' R2 U R' - R' U' R...

Cubeast - a speedcubing timer for Bluetooth cubes with support for all Bluetooth cubes, all timers and all major solving methods

I've been using the app for a few days now and I really like it, especially the recognition/execution distinction in the graph and in the statistics. Will there be a possibility to choose between timed and untimed inspection in a future update?

[Help Thread] Looking for a cubing buddy?

Thanks for your interest but it was posted back in December: I have a cubing buddy and I am now sub20! But if you tell me what you average (20? 21? 22? 23?) I can add you to the list of people looking for someone :)

[Help Thread] How to Get Faster using the Fridrich / CFOP Method

A thing to keep in mind: you can't be sub20 if it takes you 15 seconds to do F2L. If you reach last layer at 17-18 seconds, knowing WV, ZBLL or COLL won't help at all. As PetrusQuber said, practicing should do the trick: it'll help you gain back muscle memory and will make recognising patterns...

    The "Request an Alg" Thread

How would you deal with this case without rotating? (blue face is front face) I know I can pair the pieces with either y U L' U' L or y U2 L' U' L. But technically since the edge is oriented I don't need to rotate to solve that case. Is there a 3-4 mover I'm missing that would pair the pieces...

    Rubik's Cube sightings in media

You can see a Rubik's cube in the latest episode of the amazing series Killing Eve (03x03). Here Eve Polastri is invastigating the murder of her friend Kenny: she's trying to find what he was working on. This scene is ridiculous for a cuber (how did they even get the orientation right to do the...

    The reconstruction thread

I know this isn't a solve critique thread, but I couldn't help myself. Bottom line is: NEVER ROTATE TWICE FOR AN F2L PAIR, DON'T BE AFRAID OF LU-GEN SOLUTIONS Cross: LUR-gen algs are not that fast (though not the worst), and because of the L' and the blue cross piece that will go up, pieces...

What average is good for new cubers?

Forget about look ahead until you average about 20s or even less, it's only good once your solutions are efficient Working this early on look ahead can be damaging, you will develop bad habits that'll be hard to change

    help with m slice moves

@PetrusQuber Just a quick note: you don't need to say "B sticker of BD" or "D sticker of BD", the first letter indicates the sticker (BD and DB are different) So for instance: - For M moves put your ring/middle finger on DB - For M' moves put your ring/middle finger on BD
