Yo, I'm JediJupiter, you can call me Jedi or even Jupiter if you want to.
Well, I always loved slidy-puzzles, I mean they probably have an actual name but you know, I like those. I decided I wanted to learn how to cube about a week ago when I was clearing out my room (I should probably finish cleaning actually) and I found my old rubiks cube. I did the beginners method, and it felt pretty eh since I was basically just following instructions that I'd memorised. So I played a little more, and I've decided I like building blocks and I just really love roux so much more than the others. Blabla bla bla. I've ordered a 2x2, a cyclone boys (probably not amazing since it was the cheapest but it's a good place to start) 3x3 that seemed to be optimised for speed and this other oddly shaped one and I can't remember the name of. They've been ordered. I'm excited. Bla blabla.
Nice to meet you all, hopefully I'll get better pretty quick :3

Oh Hai! ^^
Welcome to the forum, remember to think hard before you pick a method because they all have good qualities and bad qualities (roux isn't good for 4x4... etc).

Also read a lot before you write in case you make a mistake! (take it from me and my terrible experience.) D:

anyway; happy cubing! :D

Welcome! There's lots of resources for Roux here, let me know if you need anything :) I have a video series for beginner's Roux, but it seems like you are probably beyond that by now.

As a matter of fact... I did use those videos to start! I did skip quite a lot because, well, the videos were quite long, but yes, you were indeed how I learned roux! Thank you a whole load for making the video man!

And yes master, I will avoid the temptations of the dark side of the force.

Roux is the dark side, haha. Much like Vader, you've been seduced without even knowing it!

But there are methods that help so much more with CFOP. Yau builds a cross, etc. basically if you're serious in 4x4 you'll need to use CFOP.
I guess you're right but I was trying to say that you can still be decently fast with roux on 4x4.
