Cubing Websites?

[TheNextFeliks]

So I am getting into web development and was deciding to use my skills to make a website over winter break about my favorite thing: cubing. What is a good free web hosting service to use? I need a free one, I don't have any money to use.

If you want free hosting with a free subdomain (youraddress.somethingshort.com/org/net), Zymic is wonderful. It gives you complete control over your site, and it's free. Subdomains include 99k.net, zzl.org, and some other ones that aren't as memorable.

If you know how to code, 000webhost is great. It is what I use, and rarely have problems with it. Bonus: supports PHP and MySQL

I can work with you and add it to my website

www.strakerak.com/yourwhatever

(can be www.strakerak.com/cubing I guess.)

[FallingPanda]

I had the same idea as strakerak. I will host a website for you for free. I can also help you if you need it. I just finished my website actually. Check it out. www.learningtocube.com

webs.com is great, and easy to use.

I saw a few people using Weebly, and I really liked it. The only problem is that you can't add tables. However, what you can do is make columns, and you can space things evenly in them.

Wow. A lot of options. I think I like 000webhost because I would like to code it. Also the php and MySql would be nice.

Any suggestions for my site? I'll probably do some roux stuff.

Add your PLLs, OLLs, Parity algs, FMC tips (your good at FMC I thnk lol ), and other algs sets. Walkthrough solve vids you have made. Stuff about you and your cubing history.

Haha fmc. I haven't done that in months. I think I am just going to do a weebly. It should suffice just fine.

Yay, you will be rike mah and use weebly :33 But seriously weebly is a good choice in my opinion. I looked at other free hosts when building my website and nothing beats weebly.

I have tried SEVERAL web hosts :

Weebly : Preset website, full customization
Webs : Preset website, no customization
000webhost : good, but glitches out most of the time.
my3gb: don't remember what happened to that.

If you want an HTML only mode, the only one I've found that works and is free is WebStarts.

Example: http://ranzhas-skewb-method.webstarts.com/

Really? I've only had minor problems, and even then they were fixed quickly. I've hardly ever had a problem in the time I've used it.

If you want, I could help you with some of the Roux stuff. Just PM me. But ofc, in no way am I a Roux expert, so maybe approaching someone else would be better?

I want to know how I can get pictures for algs a new sub set I'm working on, and hope to put on a future website. Maybe using the weebly site to help me.
