I kinda maybe dropped my ES 5x5 yesterday, and the core snapped. So I was wondering if it would be possible to super glue it back together.
I don't feel like uploading a picture and stuff, so I will explain this as well as I can. Okay. So I dropped the cube and it exploded into a bazillion pieces and I noticed that one of the centers (green) was missing. I looked at it closer and noticed that it was broken off. It is broken just past where the screw ends. So I was wondering if it would be possible to just super glue it back on and still have it be functional, or if not, if someone knew a better way to fix my problem. Like maybe where to get a new core or something.
If there is nothing I can do about it, I will probably just glue it all together and use it as a paperweight.

My sister dropped My ES 5x5 and the core snapped, too.

So I superglued it back on. It still works fine. The white side on mine was the one that broke. It's looser than the other sides, though...

Once I find that center piece I will try to superglue it back on. It isn't really a big deal because I am getting a new white one. But it would be nice to be able to have my black one, too. I was just about to start practicing 5x5 then kaboom. Now I can't.
It's weird because I dropped it from probably about 3 feet from the ground, but almost all the pieces stayed less than 5 feet away from me, except for that center piece that snapped off. I have absolutely no clue where it went :( I wonder if I could just contact ES myself and demand a new core, lol :P

You can indeed glue it back on. You can also use a type A DIY core and it's screws (without the springs and stuff) as a replacement. It works quite well.

I guess it doesn't work with ES 4x4s, I tried it and the internal mechanism becomes misaligned almost every time I do an inner slice or double layer turn.

the ES 4x4 core has a corner on the center of the core to make sure the core doesn't get misaligned and to prevent double turns.you can try to mod a core to resemble the corner on the core. I personally have NOT tried this. But a rubik's 4x4 corner seems to be about the right piece to try it out with.

I've molded 6x6 pieces with folded paper soaked in superglue before when I was missing some. =P
They worked surprisingly well too.

Same thing happened to me...the problem with ES 5x5s is that they have so many pieces there is less room for the core, which in turn, makes the core thinner. I tried to glue it back on, waited a day, turned the green side a big (not assembled) and it snapped off. Maybe it was just the kind of glue, I've heard that other people glued it back on and it worked fine.

P.S. - I'm getting my new Black V5 tomorrow, Yay!
