As Kir said, I think it's basically only U U that is AUF, and U2 basically everywhere else

4.79
B2 U2 R2 F L2 R2 F' R2 D2 R2 U' B2 L' R U L' R2 D F
x2 y // inspection
R d R' F2 U R2 // Xcross
U' y' R' U R U' R' U' R // 2nd pair
y' R U' R' U' F U' F' // 3rd pair
U R U R' U' U' R U R' // 4th pair
U r U R' U R U2' r' // OLL(CP)
U2' // AUF

5.84
D' L2 R2 D2 L2 U2 F2 R2 F' D L R' F2 U F U' B2 D L2
x2 // inspection
R F R' U D2 F' D // cross
U' U' L' U L // 1st pair
U' y U' L' U L R U' R' // 2nd pair
y U R U' U' R' U2 R U' R' // 3rd pair
y' U' L' U L U' L' U L // 4th pair
U' U' F (R U R' U')2 F' // OLL(CP)
U2 // AUF PLL skip

5.88
U' B2 L2 D2 F2 U L2 D' B' L' U' R F2 D2 F U' R D'
x' // inspection
R D R D R' // cross
U R U R' y' U' R' U R // 1st pair
d R' F R F' R' U' R // 2nd pair
U R U R' // 3rd pair
U' L' U U L U L' U U L // 4th pair
r U' U' R' U' R U' r' // OLL(CP)
U' R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2 U' // EPLL

That's what I thought but as a noob I can't say for sure if these are AUF's or part of his regular solves so let me what you think of the UU's in some of his solves(Please remove them if I'm not allowed to post them here) these are from Brest's 'As Executed' section of FZ's solves.

maybe he finds that doing the U' U' and the U U turns make it easier for him to see ahead to the next pair/oll or something. Or maybe he's just being lazy

I was thinking lookahead because you can see a little more but Faz, lazy? Not with a 4.79!!!!

Generally, everyone should learn to do U2 double flick and U2' double flick in OLL/PLL, it makes them faster. But don't worry too much about it during F2L

I think both U2 and U2' double flicks have helped my f2l way more than I even originally thought they would. But maybe that's just me.

The only time I ever do U U instead of U2 is if I am desperately trying to find another pair. Almost always ends badly for me.

I have two things to say:
1) What does it matter what the fast people are doing? There will be different fast people doing something different in a few years (or perhaps sooner).
2) Just do whatever feels more comfortable at the time during the solve.

There's a correlation between being fast and good technique.

I'll take it for granted you have a factual point (I don't see any need to dispute it), but still it is very dependent on the technique in question, and doesn't mean any particular technique can't be more effective done a different way.

Ok? Would've thought that was a given.

I just didn't want you to leave people thinking that they can't learn anything from faster cubers.
