I came up with this method this morning. I guess I could call it FCOP

1. Four F2L pairs (like pcms)
2. Fix centers and place cross (D-layer) edges
3. OLL
4. PLL

I am pretty fast at it.
13.89 single (2nd fastest time ever)
22.86 ao5
24.37 ao12

What do you guys think?
I have an example solve in the thread.

Yeah, it's similar to PCMS or my columns first method. It's probably been suggested before. I'm not sure how much potential it has in comparison to columns first or CFOP (maybe a little less?).

Here's a sub-15 avg12 I just did:
14.69, 14.03, 14.35, 13.77, (11.62), (16.31), 14.16, 15.80, 13.57, 13.79, 13.24, 14.06 = 14.15 (σ = 0.71)

31.97, 31.36, 28.47, 32.24, 32.22, 32.30, 32.10, 23.42 stopped after having a "lucky?" solve. For the most part, I am consistently double my average.

Btw, why is this a thread? Were you not just posting in the method thread?

You'll never know a method is good based on your times with it. Try getting your average with any method you haven't practiced.

@OP: This method is basically "Or you could use Roux"

I averaged much lower with roux when I tried it (I use CFOP), and I never claimed the method wasn't good.

Anyway, this method isn't good. Better off building cross-1 to pay more attention to pairs and insert the final edge along with a slot pair.

Actually, I do this when necessary. Like, if I have a hard cross and see a pair I can place, I do as much of the cross as I can, place a few pairs, then finish the cross when I can. Also, if I solve the cross but forget to align it, I just leave it, solve the rest of the cube and do x2 and PLL at the end. On major flaw in solving pairs before cross is that when you're looking for pairs, you have to look on the bottom as well as the middle and top, because the cross pieces aren't there to take up those spaces.
