Hello everyone,
I average around 35-38 sec with 4-look(2 look oll and 2 look pll). Before starting 1-look pll i wanted to know what can be the best possible time with 4-look after which i can practice 1-look pll to reduce it even more.

Thnks 4 the reply but sub-15 with my current average is highly impossible :)
can u suggest a time specific to my current skills after which i can go for 1-look

If you're eventually going to do 2 look ll, don't waste time practicing 4 look ll. Just learn all the algorithms now and then practice 2 look ll.

but i feel that learning 1-look is just a way of covering up my slow solving of the first 2 steps in cfop.

As you practice, your 1st 2 steps will improve along with your last layer. Listen to Hays. He gave you good advice with a good reason attached.

I use 3LLL (2 look OLL and 1 look PLL). I average around 15 and easily get sub-15 singles.

1 look PLL is easier to learn and more important as it vastly reduces your movecount, while only needing to learn less algs.

As you get better with OLL you recognize cases that let you predict what the second look will be, effectively making them one look, but with less efficiency.

I only know about 15 OLL's, the really easy ones (Like F R U R' U' F' for the T case) and all the dot cases, because they really eat up your times if you get those and try to do two look.

Lol I use 3LLL and know around 25 OLLs and I average around 28-32 seconds :fp
I REALLY need to work on F2L.

i did 4 look till i came to up to 40 secs
i have starte learning full pll and my average is 34-ish

I don't know all the PLL's (still have to learn Gb, Na, Nb) and OLL's (just know the T cases) and I average around 20 seconds.

Since the best time with 1-look OLL and 1-look PLL is somewhere between 4 and 5 seconds, the best possible time with 2-look OLL and 2-look PLL should be somewhere between 6 and 7, I guess.

And since everyone is saying their times with x-look OLL/PLL: I have a sub-15 average in competition using 2-look OLL and all PLL's except G's (I just use J + some EPLL when I get a G)

Learning 1-look PLL shouldn't be so bad. 1-look OLL is harder just because of the number of cases (57). Some people say don't worry about learning full OLL until you're sub-X but I think you should learn them whenever you feel motivated to learn them. I learned full OLL and PLL early on and I'm glad I don't have to worry about it now. Some cubers can wait until later to learn algs, but others wait and then it feels like a chore to learn them. You could also learn them very slowly (like 1 a week) while mostly focusing on F2L.
