Also, cover your cube with something and throw the cube in the air a few times after scrambling for a random orientation. That will make you get used to the way it is in competition.

Use a box a cube came in. I save all my boxes so this is an option for me but not sure if you save boxes.

You can also just don the blindfold enough to cover the eyes, tilt your head forwards and lift the cube slightly higher just to show you're not peeking You lost a good few seconds on the blindfold...placing...execution...bit.

Nice turning style, learn a few 3-style algs for the trickier, more complicated edge/corner cases and you'll be filming sub-1 singles effortlessly.

The problem with my blindfold is that it's not light. It's made from pretty thick fabric which makes it harder to just drop. I might try loosening it, that might work.

I thought about learning 3-style comms for the edgecycles that include FU and BD, and the corner cycles that include BDL and RUB. Is that a good start?

I bet you can learn them in 2 mins they are just M2 but with x or x' rotations and M and M' instead of M2

in this case i use some advanced M2 cases , like if i get FU->UB , I make a U setup move , solve LU->UR , then undo setup moves
