I believe that this cube is indeed a Shengshou 4x4 v5 but Shengshou has not made an announcement. This cube is my friend's so I will buy another one and review it on my channel soon so subscribe

But how about corners?

They are the same as the v4 as far as I can tell.

It's been a month. I wonder why shops haven't started to announce the new version... 51morefun and TheCubicle both list a v4

He uses the Japanese colour scheme. Basically, yellow and blue are switched.

i have one of these, its great! no need to do a mod to the internal pieces (it's easy to do but i'd still rather not have to)
i florian modded it and it's great, feels pretty much the same as my v4 and that's only because i had to mod the v4 internally so it would feel a little different

When and where did you get yours?
I just received an SS from HKnowstore and it feels much better than expected.
I should open her up and see if the internals are different.

zcube.cn, i ordered 2 about 2 months ago and 1 was a v4 and one was a v5 (i guess they were transitioning over to the v5 in the middle of my order )

yeah if there are no internal lockups then its probably a v5 but might as well open her up and check :L

I think I also received a v5 from Fasttech.com, It also has tiles. Is this a new feature of the cube?

If you bought it at least within the last month or so, it's a v5 no matter what it said on the site, because that's what they have in stock now. They no longer make V4's. I have all of them now except the v2. I have 2 v4's though. I need to find an unmodded v2 and trade a v4 for it.

It´s still possible that the stores have unsold V4s left since before the V5 was released.

i tried it, they are great out the box, still lock up from time to time but i'm gonna give it a couple of hundred solves and tensioning/lube after exams and see how it is. I think it's probably gonna be good. Ss444 s are so temprememtal too so i suspect there are random AWESOME ones out there somewhere

Just wondering.. does anyone have pictures of the v4 and v5 next to each other. The vid is nice but I would like some clear stills.

Thing is I got a new SS from fasttech recently and it DOES lock less.. so.. I am wondering and want to check. I cannot compare it anymore to the confirmed v4 as it is modded.
