It's more about complaining because the event has changed (and I don't think it should have) with people still considering the newer, easier event to be equivalent to the older, harder one. In an ideal world I wouldn't have to clarify "yes I'm still doing this the hard way".

Having a stance on the issue is fine, incorrectly labelling something as cheating is not.
