So I was thinking about starting a Rubik's cube/puzzle club for my school. I heard it looks good on your transcript for college, and it's always nice to have a club.
I plan on making it official, but I have a few questions before I do it... What do I do after it's created? There's not much we can do can we? It's pretty much meet and greet.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hahahahahaha, oh my god, that site.

But seriously, I suggest having some mini unofficial competitions, holding some classes to teach new people to solve the cube, and maybe buying some cool stuff for the club (like expensive puzzles one person might not be able to afford on their own, or a bunch of timers).

For my club, I just teach people, have comps (so far only unofficial comps), and buy puzzles. You could basically do anything you want since you would be the founder of the club. It might be best if everything is at least cubing related. I would suggest making mosaics to get the people in the club to work together or doing something different every few weeks so that people don't get bored.

Then youcandothecube.com is a good place to get learning kits

First teach the people how to solve the 3x3, 2x2, 4x4 and then buy a few different puzzles like maybe a megaminx or shapeshifter and then teach those. You could also MAKE different puzzles as a group, that might be a fun group activity. Good luck! Also, some schools may provide funding as this club can be very educational....

You should make a group like this:

Each level (2x2, 3x3 etc;) has its own method and cubers can choose which method they want to learn.

Methods for 2x2:
Ortega
Cll/Coll (for more advanced)
lbl

Methods for 3x3:
Roux + (CMLL for more advanced)
Fridrich + Full Oll and PLL ( for more advanced)
LBL
Petrus

Methods for 4x4:
K4

Good Ol' Redux

Yau

Then You could start adding Pyraminx, megaminx, BLD, and OH. Then you could add competitions infront of the whole school. It would be an investment for the school but It would be fun. It can build motor skills and become educational.
