What would you think about a cubing video game?

The only way to make it good is to use Lars idea. Just pushing buttons and not having to have any skill is pointless. I don't see why to play the game if it doesn't actually help you as a cuber. I wouldn't play it for cubes that I actually have anyway. The only thing that I would use it for (if Lars Idea was used) would be cubes I don't have such and there are not simulators for such as a 3x3 Dino Cube. I think you should also include a tutorial for people just starting out. Also, another cool feature to add would be being able to design your own cube in the game. It would be like a cube simulator of your own custom made cube. I already know I'd be making some crazy things like a Mf8 curvy copter with odd color schemes.

EDIT: I also liked the idea of the cube controller. It would be sort of like the guitars for guitar hero, but much more interesting. It may just have to send a wirless signal to a devise that plugs into the console so it knows what moves your doing. It would also need batteries with this idea, but you can create electricity by turning with metal and magnets if you know how. I know its unlikely, but you could make it self powered.

Probably wouldn't sell well. I wouldn't buy it.
At first I was surprised how much praise this idea was getting. Yeah, tbh this game sounds awful. If I wanted to play an RPG, I'd play Pokemon or something. This game doesn't even have anything to do with solving cubes. This:
why improve a virtual cuber when during that time you could be improving your own time?

You could get an electronic cube that specifically is linked to the game and you are given a scramble which it performs itself (due to the mechanism inside). The smoothness/lube also gets better as you increase. Ie, if you unlock a Zhanchi that's been lubed well your electronic cube mechanism releases lube or releases grip to prevent friction slowing down turning....obviously technology would have to be a lot more advanced.

And the 1-99 thing reminded me of Runescape lol, imagine going round wearing a 99 rubik's cube cape.

Sounds good. I doubt if EA will consider making such a game because only cubers will buy it..

I know that, haha. Maybe it could be an xbox live downloadable title. Something small that you could pick up for like 5 or 10 bucks.

*also, I have some new ideas on the make belief game if anyone is curious. So, the 57 olls could be like puzzle pieces. You could find one in an alley or something. you could unlock them at competitions and stuff. And it'd be a challenge for your character to know them all. Also in online mode, you could bet cubes or money on races and stuff like that. And I really like the idea about being able to make cubes. That'd be a really cool side feature to make crazy mods that you don't have like barrel cubes or whatever i out there.

It sounds awesome! I would buy it if it was under $45-$50 I'd say. Do you have a programming company in mind, or do you or your friends know how to create Xbox games?
