I love cubing though I have no desire to enter competitions. I can solve the 2x2 the 3x3 and 4x4 I'm the best at 2x2 with my best time 10 sec (not that great) :( I live in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia and loves anything LOGICAL including Rubik's Cubes not that I own any RUBIKS cube. I own a 2x2 3x3 4x4 5x5 all shengshou. I find them all very good cubes I might by a DaYan 3x3. I tried my friend's and it seemed pretty good.

I haven't timed myself for a long time last time was 1.28 now probably 1 min. I use the LBL with keyhole still thinking about which method to learn next. Maybe Petrus.

I know petrus and i do not recomand this method. If you planning on learning a new method i suggest fridrich which is what i am learning now which i should have learned first.

Hi everyone its tom from US whatsup

Do whatever seems fun for you, especially if you don't plan on going to competitions. CFOP (Fridrich), Roux, ZZ and Petrus are known as the "big four" method. Of the fastest cubers, most use CFOP, and a handful use Roux or ZZ. If you're just going for speed, I recommend learning CFOP or Roux right away, but if you just want to have fun, learn all four. They all present their own advantages, challenges and subtleties. One thing to note about Petrus is that the LL method on the Petrus website is good for beginners, but OLL/PLL and COLL/EPLL are better. Check out the wiki for information on those substeps.

Also, I can almost guarantee you will change your mind about not attending comps. Even if you never plan on being competitive, you will probably want to go in order to meet other cubers :)

Happy cubing!

Try all the big methods. Petrus, zz, roux and fridrich and then you can decide BY YOURSELF which suits you best. Don't let other people influence your decision on which method you'll use.

Welcome btw

i didnt want to really sway your decision in anyway but i am just saying that from my own experince. Dont get me wrong i think that petrus is a good and fun method but i do think fridrich is better.

yeah, don't let other people tell you what method to use. I used CFOP for about a year and a half before I switched to roux, and it's awesome. And now I've been having someone tell me to switch to ZZ for a while now, but I'm not going to, since I like the feel and style of roux better, even though I'm the same speed with ZZ and faster with CFOP.

Not trying to persuade you one method or another, but Fridrich aka CFOP is the closest to LBL out of the "Big Four" and a natural progression from what you already know to something a little more advanced. I would say ZZ is the next closest after that but different. But yeah, go with whatever appeals to you more.
