Hey guys

I'm kinda new to the forums but I just wanted to drop by to tell you that I've spent a few days coding and I've designed my own timer+database+scrambler. Basically, you get a lot of statistics and your solve times are all saved in a database.

Anyway, for some screenshots and the DL-Links, visit my site @ http://cube.luxSource.info

It would mean a lot to me

Thanks guys

Well it is good to go ;) you can try it out and if you do find any bugs, just msg me here on the forum.

As you can see, there are 2 version. I would recommend CubeStudio mINImal to you, unless you are running a mysql service on your PC. CubeStudio mINImal stores all solve times locally in .ini files (oldschool I know, but reliable) ;)

So if you want to use it, go ahead :) I'd be more than happy to keep on developping and adding new features

Looks pretty nice. Although it's pretty simple. I will look into it some more.

I can't go into the Documentation page and the Links pages.... You should probably finish the pages before you put them up.

And the 2x2 cube is called the Pocket Cube, not the Travel Cube.

Odin ever heard of www.cubetimer.com

It is indeed very simple. But the idea of storing all solve times locally came to me when I tried to convince a friend that my best solve time was sub-50 (you might have noticed I'm still a beginner ;)).

Anyway. The next feature that will be added will be "Session Data".

So you can start a new Session by clicking a button and your solve times will both be added to the BIG global database, where you will get your total average time, etc etc, BUT also to a session database, so later on you can review your stats for each day, i.e August 31st: 6 Solves, Average: ... etc etc

I'm off to work ;)

PS: Thx for pointing that out (pocket cube+2 missing pages), i'll fix that asap.

EDIT: If it makes you feel better, I can put the source up (even tho it's very messy). The program is written in Pascal, compiled in Codegear Delphi 2007 (v11)

EDIT2: I've decided to stop development on the SQL version of CubeStudio. Advantages of this version are of course that you can send your solve times directly to a server and publish em online (or w/e you wanna do with em). I will make some slight bugfixes to it, but no new features will be added.

It's simply too much work to maintain to seperate applications. CubeStudio mINImal will be updated to match or even exceed CubeStudio SQL's features (i.e. sorting, coloring etc etc)

Couple of observations:

Windows only? :(

I know there's a scramble length/difficulty option, but 15 moves is too short for a scramble. Also there's no bigcube scrambling support but I guess you're adding that later?

When I click new solve, a separate timer window pops up. However, on my computer it pops up halfway off the screen so that I can't see the timer and there's no apparent way to move it.

Ability to discard/modify times would be helpful. I don't necessarily want to add all my times to the database, e.g. if I DNF or +2 or start/stop the timer accidentally (unless this is already a feature and I just couldn't see it because the timer window was halfway off my screen). Or an option for clearing the database/starting a new session, if I'm finished with my speedsolve practice and want to start a round of BLD, for example. EDIT: I didn't read your latest post. I see you're working on this for future release.
