Hi, I am a new speedcuber from the US, I joined this forum about a month ago. I have a personal best time of 37.28 seconds, and an average of about 50 seconds. I am using the Fridrich system, and am about half way through the F2L.

Welcome! What did you mean about being halfway through the F2L? I don't understand.

The first thing that came to mind is that he was solving while typing and he's done two F2L pairs

Haha... I think he could be doing F2L algorithmically.

If you are, don't. Badmephisto and RiDo have great tutorials on intuitive F2L. Also, what are you doing for last layer? If you're doing beginner last layer, or 4LLL, you may be interested in my 4LLL guide.

clarification

Just a clarification, I have about half of the F2L algorithms memorized. I have not done anything with the last layer yet.

Don't learn any algorithms for F2L yet, focus on learning LL algorithms whilst using intuitive F2L

OK, I'll try working on the OLL and PLL. I'll probably work on a three-look LL, and then eventually move to the Two-Look. I already have a few of the OLL algorithms memorized, though, so I won't have to work as hard on the OLL.:D

I just got some silicone lubricant today, and I applied it to my cube. Hopefully it will help me shave a few seconds.
I also memorized all the Four-Look LL algorithms this wednsday, and am working on speeding them up and improving thier memory. Thanks for all the tips, DuffyEdge.

Don't be scared if your times go up Bh13. Lube makes the cube faster, but your hands take time to adjust as well. Overall it will be worth it however. You should be able to shave off a lot more than a few seconds after a week of practice.

I got a really lucky solve on my 3x3 today. I was doing the F2L, and was going pretty well, when I messed up pretty badly on one of the pairs. I fixed it fairly quickly, and then when I did the last pair, I looked for the OLL pattern, and saw that The entire last layer was solved! I have heard about this happening, and that the chances of it are 1,000 samething to one, but this is the first time it has happened to me.Unfortunately, I wasn't timing myself, so I don't know if it was a PR.
