Almost a year ago I got a black stickered Dayan ZhanChi. It's great and has always been really fast and quite smooth.
Recently I got a coloured (pieces are coloured, no stickers) ZhanChi and although it felt alright it was nowhere near my previous ZhanChi and I'm pretty sure it was because it had no lube.
So I got some "All purpose Silicone Spray" from the brand Ever Build (I'm in UK and couldn't find the ones people recommended). It says it is a dry silicone lubricant so I'm pretty sure it's suitable. It has also been applied for 24 hours now with no major consequences.
I sprayed them both and now the coloured cube is great and faster than my older one but it still feels a bit rough. Not sure how to explain the feeling, but it makes more noise than my older one and it would be nice if it was as smooth as the older one.
Since they are both ZhanChis I'm interested in what could be causing this feeling. It could just be because they are different cubes and are going to feel different but these are all I've had so I don't know how much variance to expect.
