Underwater blind solve on ABC

I just saw a guy on ABC's new show, "Wanna Bet?" demonstrate a blind solve under water with a 3X3 cube. The cube wasn't really scrambled very efficiently by the hosts before he started. Anyway, he took about 30-40 seconds to memorize and took another minute or so but stopped after a last step before the cube was solved. So he failed to complete the solve because he thought he was done but really wasn't (a DNF). He ended up finishing the cube out of water when he was being interviewed with one of the algorithms he was using to finish the corner. I was curious if anyone else saw this on TV and knows how to blind solve to judge this guy's performance better? I'd like your opinions if you saw this too.

This was also posted on the Yahoo group, where people actually know who Chris K. is.
I'll try to record it.

EDIT: Couldn't find the cable for the camera. It was kinda bad, anyhow. Nothing compares to "Wetten Dass?" with Gottschalk.

he probably should have taken extra time to make sure he has the memo down. They were going to cut off most of the prep anyway, and they don't really know what to expect either.
