Ok,
I am just someone who started cubing very recently, and can solve a rubik's cube in about a minute or so. I want to become a better speed cuber (or just a speed cuber!) and i want to learn from the best(most likely, you!).
Here are my questions:

1. What is the fastest method someone my level can handle? I am O.K. and i use a method a bit different than the corner switching begginer method, i use the one where you get the first layer then the middle layer then the yellow cross then the whole yellow then i get the yellow corners and then i do the edge piece swithching like this one right here http://peter.stillhq.com/jasmine/rubikscubesolution.html but still a bit different.

2. What is a good way to make a store bought cube faster?
I usually sand it and then lube with silicone lube, is there any better way.

3. My last question (i bet your relieved right now) What is a good DIY that i should get. I got two DIY's from PuzzleProz one a blue one and the other was a White one (Type A, which was better but got stolen). Should i get another type a, or a type d, or some other type i have probably never heard about before. Or one i have been looking at which is the Japanese Speedcubing Kit. I am not so sure at all and just reminding you i am a complete beginner.

Thankyou! Please Answer ASAP!

edit:for got to tell you guys that i do the cross on bottom and first and middle layer on bottom so i am familiar with that. my best time is 43 seconds also and i know finger tricks and stuff

well i dont know if im the best as you say but ill try to help.
fridrich (which i use), roux, petrus are the most widely used methods that speedcubers use. i dont think learning algorithms will be a problem. each method has its own difficulties. for the fridrich method, you need to learn to make an optimized cross, fast f2l with great look ahead, and then learn the 78 ll algorithms. roux and petrus dont require many algorithms, but they certainly require very fast and smart blockbuilding.

to make a storebought cube better, you can break in before lubricating it.
but i prefer diy kits or japanese speedcubing kit. for someone your speed, storeboughts are just fine.

get a diy type a from www.cube4you.com you can make a hybrid cube with a core and d cubies as well but dont worry about that so much for now.

edit: you can solve the cube with the fridrich method using 4LLL, using only 15 algorithms i think.

thx u really helped but can you specific about what diy to buy? i can get really any one that i want unless its over 35 dollars which i dont think any are

edit: ya i am going to check out all of the methods, see which is right for me

oh and if someone could recommend a good site to learn fridrich i am having a lot of trouble with the f2l

As for specific cube no one can really say thins cube is better or that cube is better. a type A cube is generally a safe bet but a lot of people also like the type D and rubik's brand DIY.
As for method learn whatever you want. ATM I'm wishing I had stareted learning ZZ before I got so fast at Fridrich...
Edit:
People tend to like badmephisto's videos on youtube.

youtube is generally a good source. i recommend getting a type a diy kit, preferably the new ones. or you can always make lotsofsloths' hybrid :D (i want to make it but c4y is out of d type cubes.)

ya ok but i want a reply about what you guys think and like

ok now should i get the japanese speedcubing kit or a type a/d

i need to know because my parents are asking me which one to get and i dont know

my parents want to get the japanese speedcubing kit because it is available in stores but i still dont know plz help me i am desperate

japanese speedcubing kits are awesome. you can adjust the tension but it takes some time. what i would do is sand the cube just a little bit (round the sharp parts) then solve it like that for a week. then clean the dust off the cubies with a wet towel. Then I would lubricate the cube. It starts to turn much better after a few days. It comes with lbl instructions (in japanese but it has pictures) , cube lube and screwdrivers.

but storeboughts will work just fine for you. i recommend getting a very speedy cube when you average sub 1 or less with a storebought cube.

ya i know storeboughts work fine for me but when i used to have the type a diy i had an average of less than a min, actually about 45-50 secs, but now when i use my storebought ones i get an average of 1 min. So i am ok, but anther question is where to get the japanese speedcubing kit, if any1 would like to post a link or tell me if it is available in us at all. If so, where.

Can anyone please tell me where to order a japanese speedcubing kit please?

Just post a link of where to order it in english and can be shipped to us
