How to get my TPS higher for OLL and PLL?

My tps (turns per sec) is low,and I really need to get ,my LL down to 5 seconds. I really need to get past the 20 sec milestone. Any help is appreciated!

You'll get faster as you practice solving overall. But if you REALLY want to get faster...

I'm not yet sub-20 but general plan for when I have time is: Find good algorithms, Practice (drill) these algorithms. Note that this is pretty much what everyone would say with varying levels of detail..

you will need the following power-ups to advance: +good algs, +finger tricks, +fast recognition

You need an alg that you favor best or is the fastest/smoothest for you. Then practice it using fingertricks. Now it's all up to practice until you can do it even while dreaming and/or learning some algorithm recognition techniques.

Try the Last Layer Competition. It's basically where you solve the last layer as quick as possible. You can use inspection time, but you don't have to use it if you want to improve your recognition. The link takes you to this round's scrambles (Round 17).

And since nobody has touched on the subject you don't need a 5 sec LL to have a 20 sec avg. My LL is about 7 sec and I avg about 18 sec.
I suppose I should start drilling all of my +3 sec algs. There're plenty of them.

Ya, your last layer could easily be dropped by 2 seconds if you did some oll/pll drills.

What I would say from my experience is (my LL is about 5 seconds, f2l about 10) , the follows

Pick up good algs, drill them individually, drill them so much. And set landmarks for them. Like first aim to get all your PLLs(cuz they are less) sub3. Do same for OLLs. Then try to get all of them sub 2.5. Then sub2. With the standard algs and not so good fingertricking, sub2 is certainly not that impossible on any alg. Same for OLL. This will make your LL about 5 seconds. After that, if you see how great people do it, and perfect your finger tricks, (adapting to some really weird ones), you can sub4 or even sub3 the LL. But 5 seconds is something that just takes spending time with the algs individually, and timing them(Say like an average of 100 with each). I did this a lot, and my LL is quite decent, though fingertricks are very basic, and lookahead sucks in last layer, but 5 seconds it is, TPS is quite decent
(If some specific cases, like 4 or 5 , trouble you, and you just cant get below the landmark you want to achieve, then message me, or post on this forum, there will always be advice for you )
