An engaged couple in Paraguay who were to be married shortly won a lottery price of $75,000 USD (roughly NT$ 2,000,000). They were delighted and very excited about the money, but fought over the right to claim the prize. Eventually, the case was brought up to the court.
The couple spoke strongly of themselves and was not willing to give up. The man claims himself as the purchaser of the ticket, while he simply let his fiancée take hold of it without protesting. The woman claims that the ticket was bought as a gift to her, therefore she have the right to claim the prize.
The case was such a trouble to the judge that he ordered the money to be frozen temporarily until the rightful ownership of the ticket was decided. Meanwhile, the couple breaks up and canceled their engagement, thus a pair of sweethearts ended up becoming enemies.
